A Futura é a prancha freerace da Starboard. A prancha freerace é desenvolvida para ser extremamente rápida tal como as pranchas de slalom puro, mas mais fáceis de controlar e com maior conforto. Starboard’s Raceboard rockets, the Phantom 377 and 377 L need no introduction. At the recent World Championships in Sopot, Poland, both the Men’s and Women’s podiums were occupied by the Phantom 377s.

For 2017, we are introducing a new design targeted at the R300 Class with the much awaited Phantom 299, that is based on the Phantom 377 L with added width and thickness to compensate the shorter length of 299 cm.

The Phantom 299 is 3 cm thicker than the Phantom 377 and 1 cm thicker than the Phantom 377 L for amazing light wind performance. The extra thickness allows the new Phantom 299 to lift onto its rail earlier and with better control.

INTRO
We took a Phantom shape and trimmed it down to 271 cm long for more planing versatility, without taking away from the light wind performance.

BAT WINGS
We kept the Bat Wings. These Bat Wings offer a wide planing surface at high speeds with reduced drag and more lift at low speeds. This translates into earlier planing, improved upwind tracking, a wider wind range and the possibility to use larger fins.

FULL-LENGTH MAST TRACK
We removed the adjustable, slanted mast track of the Phantom Race and simplified the deck configuration to be more ergonomic and intermediates-friendly. The mast track keeps its length for versatility and a wider wind range.

Designed by Ben Severne and developed by Remi Vila; the 2013 version features XL Cams, a progressive tight leech and new geometry. The rider is able to effortlessly pump the sail, lifting the board onto the rail for upwind performance and powering the board flat for acceleration off the wind.

THE SEVERNE FORMULA EXPERIENCE SAIL IS DESIGNED FOR ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR ONE DESIGN CLASSES IN THE WORLD. 5 Specific One Design sizes cover a very wide range of wind conditions which starts at just 7 knots. FE’s equipment rules however, ensure that the board, fin and sails are affordable and durable. Formula Experience racing is currently established in France, Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Estonia, Denmark, Mexico and the USA. There is also the new Formula Experience One Design European Tour. The Formula Experience class also hosts two key events: the European Championships and the World Championships, where the winners are crowned ISAF’s European FE Champion and World FE Champion respectively.
